Quick Update re Flash Floods
Thank you, Val, for the good thoughts. It's half-sunny right now, but more rain is expected tonight. No warnings, thank goodness.
Took the bigger dog for a walk last night, and, sure enough, there were the emergency workers and sandbags, and road closure signs. And a news van, but we got there after their coverage.
We didn't get the high water, so no flooding on my street, except for the end of the block where we have "Lake Kelley." (That's what we've named the "lake" that forms everytime it rains.) All the people just go the other direction to get anywhere.
It flooded a couple of blocks over, though, where the sandbags had been waiting. Those are the fancy, big homes right on the edge of the water. Hope they're okay.
So, so far, so good. I kept thinking of Florida and Katrina and Texas, and thinking that my situation was a laugh in comparison.
